MATRIMONIAL PROBLEMS?
The breakdown of a relationship can cause one of
the most traumatic periods of a person's life. Ridgway Greenall
has a specialist team who provide professional expertise to assist
these situations. We give comfort and support at a very stressful
time by offering practical advice and guidance.
MEDIATION
- the alternative way
Increasingly cases we deal with can benefit from
mediation sessions to identify problem areas and seek acceptable
solutions. Audrey Venables, a Partner in the firm, is a professionally
qualified Mediator and offers this specialist service along with
Lesley Butler. It involves a series of meetings which can smooth
the path to a negotiated settlement. If decisions can be achieved
by this method it avoids Court Orders being imposed with the additional
costs that it involves. Please ask for details or an initial meeting
with her if you want to know more.
DIVORCE AND SEPARATION
Our approach when a relationship breaks down is
to deal with the Matter in a conciliatory atmosphere, sensitively,
in a Constructive and cost-conscious way. When divorce is being
considered, the first requirement is to identify whether sufficient
grounds exist and secondly, consider all the legal aspects of
the case on the current law.
PENSIONS
A pension is often one of the most valuable assets
that you can have and, since 1st July 1996, there have been some
big changes in the law that could affect you.
THE FAMILY HOME
The position of the matrimonial home would need
to be considered. It may be owned or rented, in a single name
or joint names. Whatever the current arrangement, some action
would be required to satisfy the changing domestic situation.
MAINTENANCE
This is always a painful subject for both sides
but is important part of any settlement and whether there should
be obligation to pay maintenance.
PROPERTY
The position of other property or business interests
owned by each party needs to be considered and as to whether the
other has a proper claim to a share.
CHILDREN
Arrangements
for children are quite separate when dealing the legal aspects
of a divorce or separation and involve the Child Support Agency.
Catrin Parry is a member of the Law Society's Children's Panel
and can help with all childcare matters.
