Direct
Care is a vital ingredient in today's economic and social climate.
Whether working in a residential, nursing, hospital or day-care
facility, this qualification will provide all the necessary
training in every aspects of care for the elderly, infirm, sick
or disabled client. Direct Care can supply the necessary qualifications
for a successful business and a caring society.
Training at Level 2:
Basic
induction will include group training sessions, individual one-to-one
coaching, regular progress reviews and a bank of resources for
candidate's usage.
- Load Management (for moving and transferring clients).
- Continence Awareness.
- Client Abuse.
- Basic Food and Hygiene.
- Personal Care
Once candidates have achieved a level 2 qualification, or if
they are working in a supervisory role, then there is the opportunity
to complete a level 3 qualification (which is accepted as entrance
to nursing at Chester University).
Level 3 includes:
The course is flexible and divided between training at the
YMCA Centre and work experience within a placement. Work trials
in local nursing homes, residential homes, hospitals and day-centres
often leads to permanent employment for successful candidates.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements however candidates should
have an interest in all aspects of care, a compassionate disposition
and a flexible outlook.
