INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Information Technology trainingHighly qualified staff using up-to-date equipment deliver Information Technology training at YMCA.  Computer skills are vital for success in the business world.  Whether you want to work in the information technology field or in an office, being aware of computers can mean the difference between failure and success.

Structure

NVQ's level 1, 2 and 3 are available and units can be chosen instead of the full NVQ.  If you choose NVQ then you will be placed with a local company in order to gain experience and evidence for your NVQ, with some placements leading to employment.  Even candidates who are working can do NVQ without any cost to the employer.  We also run a 5 week short computer course that includes:

IT and computer skills training
  • Microsoft 2000
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Access
  • Microsoft Desktop Publisher

During the 5 weeks you will receive Internet training, including browsing and email on modern, up-to-date equipment.

CLAIT - An 8 week Clait course for the beginner including, wordprocessing, spreadsheet and database.  OCR (RSA) certificates this course.
